Bio

Daniel Rollins was named the new Head Baseball Coach for Paul D. Camp Community College on June 25th 2019. He will took over the Hurricane program after spending two years coaching at Bryant & Stratton College in Virginia Beach. At BSC he led the recruiting effort and managed the pitching staff on game days. He was also the Head Coach for their developmental games.  During his time at BSC Coach Rollins helped place many of his student-athletes at four year schools following their playing careers.

He had been an Associate Scout for the Cincinnati Reds for four years and before that worked in the same position with the Atlanta Braves. Rollins has 5 years or previous college coaching experience. He also spent two years as the Director of College Recruiting Operations for the Baseball Factory. At the Factory he worked directly with helping players successfully get to the collegiate level and was also on the Under Amour All-American Game Selection Committee.

For two years he was an assistant baseball coach at George Mason University where he worked with hitters, outfielders, and coaching first base. During his time at Mason he helped coach multiple players go on to play professionally, including 10th round Angels draft pick., Chris O’Grady who made his MLB debut this year.

Prior to George Mason, Rollins was an assistant coach at Randolph-Macon College where he worked in multiple areas for the Yellow Jackets. His responsibilities included working with outfielders, hitters and recruiting. He helped coach the Yellow Jackets to a 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA Regional appearance.

Rollins spent the 2010 season coaching at George Washington University where his primary responsibilities included working with outfielders, hitters and first base coach. During his time with the Colonials, two players were selected in the MLB first year player draft, Eric Cantrell in the 7th round and Tom Zebroski in the 45th round.

For two summers Rollins coached the New Market Rebels serving as the pitching coach in the prestigious Valley Baseball League. In both seasons, he helped lead his staffs to top five finishes in team ERA. He coached five players that have gone on to play professional baseball while in New Market.

Rollins, a native of Hartfield, Va., played collegiate baseball at Randolph-Macon College. He graduated from R-MC in May of 2009 with a degree in Political Science. He currently resides in Smithfield, VA with his wife Leslie and their daughter Riley Ann.
