Hurricanes Last Inning Rally Comes Up Short

Camp Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-7 loss to Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Wednesday. The Mustangs took the lead on a double in the first inning. Camp Community College collected five hits and Mid-Atlantic Christian had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

The Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs got things started in the first inning. Mid-Atlantic Christian scored two runs when Trey Dail doubled.

Camp Community College scored six runs in the ninth inning and brought the tying run to the plate, but the rally fell short. The Hurricanes put pressure on, led by singles by Adam Sanders and Joe Lathrop, a walk by Brandon Boulais, and an error on a ball put in play by Quincy Sippio.

Dakota Jacobsen earned the victory on the hill for the Mustangs. The lefty went six innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out six and walking one. Jordan Young, Matthew Springman, and Tanner McKeel all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. McKeel recorded the last out to earn the save for Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs Varsity.

Jared Showalter took the loss for Camp Community College. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing nine hits while striking out four. Hurricane pitchers tallied 15 strikeouts on the day.  Lefthander Tristan Williams 6 in 2 2/3IP. Sophomore Dylan Beck had 5 in 2 innings of work.

Sanders led the Hurricanes offensively with two hits in three at bats. Braydon Charlton and Quincy Sippio both added doubles on the day.
